FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND
A holistic system for balancing, healing, and harmonizing all
aspects of the person – body, mind, emotions, and spirit. What is Reiki? The word Reiki means universal life force energy, and the practice was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 2oth century. Many Eastern therapies are based on the free-flow of this energy in the body. Negative events, thinking or circumstances can disrupt the flow of this energy which can in turn result in mental, emotional or physical disharmony.
Sometimes we can feel stuck in certain situations, behaviours or thinking patterns. Reiki promotes healing on all levels - it clears energy blocks, can accelerate healing, supports positive change and promotes wellbeing.
What does a Reiki treatment involve? The client lies – or sits if more comfortable – fully clothed on a couch, and the therapist’s hands are placed on various positions on or just above the client’s body. The energy is then channelled through the practitioner into the client and often a feeling of deep relaxation and wellbeing is experienced. Sometimes heat, cold or tingling may be felt as the energy flows. The energy will go where it is needed and can help with the healing of physical conditions as well as promoting positive change in other areas of life.
How many sessions will I need?It all depends what your particular need is. Long term or deep seated health problems may require a course of regular treatments, or if you just want a ‘pick-me-up’ a one off session is perfectly fine. Some conditions might require a couple of weekly sessions followed by a top up every month or so, but everybody is different.
Is it suitable for me? Reiki is entirely safe and suitable for everyone from newborn babies to the very elderly. Reiki can also help plants, animals, and even medication can be ‘reikied’ to enhance the benefits and minimise any harmful side effects.
It can safely be used alongside any other therapy.
